Issue/Introduction

Running a SQL Agent job where a job is selected in the form for 'SQL_EXECUTE_JOB' returns the following error when selecting the ellipses to get the job list:

"Your search definition is too complex. Please define a more restricted search"

Environment

Automic v21.0.9 and 24

SQL Server

Cause

This is due to a defect in Automic Automation.

Resolution

A problem has been fixed where the input help in the "Execute an MS SQL Server Job(SQL_EXECUTE_JOB)" form did not show a list if there were more than 500 entries.

This fix is now available in version 21.0.11
The fix for v24.2 is not yet published.

Additional Information

The following workaround can be used:

Instead of using the ellipses to select a job from the list of returned jobs, you can manually type in the Sql Server Agent job name and save the Automic job, then execute it.
