Endpoint Security Endpoint Security Complete Endpoint Security for Servers Endpoint Protection

Issue/Introduction

When using Live Shell in the ICDm, some text may be displayed incorrectly.  Characters may be replaced with the Unicode replacement character (diamond with question mark) or other unexpected characters.

Additionally, Live Shell commands that contain non UTF-9 characters fail to execute.

Environment

Endpoint Security or Endpoint Protection Agent.

Cause

OEM codepage to UTF-8 codepage conversion was not working as expected.

Resolution

Upgrade the endpoint agents to 14.3 RU9 or later.

  • This fix only applies to the default PowerShell encoding.  If there are multiple languages used in directory and/or file names, only the active codepage will be converted.

In versions 14.3 RU8 and older, character conversion was not working properly which resulted in incorrect characters being displayed in some localizations other than English.
