Issue/Introduction

Title: Alarm for network_latency_high
Event ID: network_latency_high
Added in release: 4.0.0
Alarm Description:

  • Purpose: The alarm is raised when the average network latency between the transport node and its corresponding leader manager node is higher than 150 ms.
  • Impact: Possible delays or timeouts in the communication channel between the transport node and its corresponding leader manager node.

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center

Resolution

Steps to Resolve
For 4.0.0 and higher

  1. Wait for 5 minutes to see if the alarm automatically gets resolved.
  2. Ping the NSX Transport node from the Manager node. The ping test should not see drops and have consistent latency values. Latency values of 150ms or less are recommended.
  3. Check if there is any physical network maintenance ongoing (eg switch/router reboots or firmware updates).
  4. Inspect for any other physical network layer issues. If the problem persists, contact Broadcom Support.
