Issue/Introduction

Does Information Centric Analytics (ICA) require the use of a digital certificate for Transport Layer Security (TLS) communications between a server hosting Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) and the server hosting Internet Information Systems (IIS) and the ICA application?

Resolution

Although Broadcom recommends the use of secure communication protocols whenever possible, ICA does not require the use of a certificate on the server hosting MSSQL. Because ICA's application layer is hosted by the IIS service, it is dependent on IIS to broker and handle communications with the MSSQL instance hosting the RiskFabric database. Contact your issuing certificate authority or Microsoft for certificate support.
