Under certain rare circumstances, objects from attached libraries that have been deleted in that library still appear in local models extracted from group models that reference those libraries.
CA Plex 7.2.x and 7.3
This problem is most likely to occur if a host model is reattached to a different copy of the referenced library.
This is usually achieved by manually changing the lib.tab file for the host model, which is NOT a recommended procedure.
The recommended solution is to restore the host and attached group model libraries to a point before the ghost shadow objects were introduced to the library.
If this is not possible, there is a new feature added to CA Plex that will allow to ignore ghost shadow objects during extract.
To use this feature, you will need to perform the following steps:
1. Set the following option in your Plex.ini file:
[Options]
Hide Unreferenced Shadow Objects=1
2. Launch CA Plex, log into the host model and create a new local model
3. You should see a number of informational messages listed, one for each I-GNL: Unreferenced shadow object has not been extracted.
You should continue to keep this option set for all local models extracted from the host model that contains the ghost shadow objects.
