When denying applications using Application Metering, two notification windows are displayed instead of one

Issue/Introduction

An Altiris Administrator want's to block an application from running, and so a Deny Policy is created.  When the user clicks the application, there are two windows that pop up.

1) Windows notification

2) if configured, users also see the Application Metering window pop up, behind the Windows notification:

Is there a way to only have the Application Metering denial window display and not the Windows notification?

Resolution

The Windows dialog / notification window comes from the driver-based approach used by Application Metering. This message is managed by the Windows operating system due to the driver-based approach used and as such it is not possible to change or suppress this message or window status.

The Altiris Admins have full control over the Application Metering Denial window.  The status message can be changed, and visible or not visible according to the Deny policy.
