Resolution

When referring to the documentation for configuring Active Directory, the following steps should be replaced with the following: 

In Step 3:

The correct syntax for Windows is below and can be added anywhere below the line "rem End of system maintained section": The memory allocation can value 2048m can be higher or lower depending on how much memory you want to allocate.

SET Java_mb=2048m -Djava.security.auth.login.config=%AW_HOME%\AM_GSSAPI.conf -Djava.security.krb5.conf=%AW_HOME%\krb5.conf

In Step 4:

There is no need to source the sosite.bat if you are using starting Applications Manager(AM) by starting the Service AWW-<MASTERNAME>.
The Service automictically runs/sources the sosite before starting.

In Step 5:

As mentioned in step 4, the proper way to start Applications Manager is by starting the Service
