Error when attempting NCM Backup in Spectrum

Issue/Introduction

When trying to backup the configuration of a device in Spectrum using the Network Configuration Manager (NCM), the following error is see:

"SPC-OCC-10747: Error capturing configuration for host"

Environment

Version: Any
Component: Network Configuration Manager (NCM)

Cause

NCM debugging was enabled using the instructions located in the "How to debug NCM problems in Spectrum" knowledge article.

The debug.logfile showed the following:

Apr 30, 2024 00:49:08.912 (captureRunningConfig for host: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) -  Exception occured :SSH_MSG_DISCONNECT: 11 Too many authentication failures. en
Apr 30, 2024 00:49:08.912 (captureRunningConfig for host: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) - Session already closed 
Apr 30, 2024 00:49:08.912 (captureRunningConfig for host: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) -  error status not equal to SUCESS : 8523794

This is an indication the authentication information on the device has changed.

Resolution

Verify the authentication information on the device and update NCM with the new authentication information.
