Issue/Introduction

In DSM Explorer, External applications appear in the Quick Launch
New applications could be added and existing applications could be deselected to be not shown or hidden.
New added applications appear for all DSM Explorers and all users.

But settings about external applications which should be shown or hidden are stored per user and per DSM Explorer.

Where are stored the external applications settings ?

Environment

Client Automation - All Versions.

Resolution

Definition of external applications are stored in database in table unittype.

So new external applications are visible for all users and all DSM Explorers.

But settings about external applications items which should be hidden/visible are stored in registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ComputerAssociates\Unicenter ITRM\AdminConsole\Assetportal\Quicklaunch

So these settings are only valid for the logged user. Different users on same computers could have different settings show/hide external applications.

Additional Information

In below example, Application "Trace Route" has been deselected, in registry key app1 is set to 0 (= hide) :

app0 is the first element of the list

When the app* is missing in registry key, default value (1 = show) is used
