Issue/Introduction

The Security Analytics hardware can boot from a NIC to install from a PXE server.  This is typically disabled when shipped.  This option can be disabled.

Environment

Dell servers

Resolution

The PXE boot can be disabled by entering iDRAC and deselecting the NIC boot option.  Follow these steps:

  1. Login to the server iDRAC using a web browser.
  2. Select Configuration at the top of the page
  3. Select BIOS Settings from the drop down menu
  4. Select Boot Settings
  5. Update Set Boot Order Enable with HardDisk.List.1-1,NIC.Integrated.1-1-1
  6. Select Apply

Next time the system is rebooted or power cycled, it will attempt to boot from the hard disk first.
