Issue/Introduction

Is there any way to copy the IP scopes we have setup for discovery in the Operator Console, over to a new Operator Console we are setting up? Or do we have to input them manually one by one?

We are doing server OS upgrades for currency and our UIM hubs are some of the servers that need updating. So we are taking this opportunity to spin up a brand new UIM Environment to replace our Production environment. (So new Primary and Secondary hubs, as well as new hub that holds the SNMP probes and brand new database empty and clean.)

Resolution

It is very risky and untested to copy discovery scopes in OC to a new OC in a new UM environment.

Even though a customer may copy the data from one environment to another environment which is possible, it will not be useful because the data in the CM_*  associated tables formed with the combination of robot and hub and based on that discovery agent id will be formed as there are reference key relationships between those tables. Therefore, that data will not be useful and new entries will be created again.

In short, currently, it is not a recommended nor an officially supported or tested method/approach.
