Issue/Introduction

What is the procedure for updating or replacing the site certificate used by Information Centric Analytics (ICA)?

Environment

Version : 6.x

Component : Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)

Resolution

ICA's site certificates are managed through the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. When updating or replacing an existing certificate with a new certificate, first follow this procedure:

  1. Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager (InetMgr.exe)
  2. In the Connections pane, click on the server hostname
  3. In the main pane under the IIS heading, double-click the Server Certificates icon
  4. Under the Actions pane, click the Import link
  5. Locate the new certificate's .pxf file and click the OK button

After importing the new certificate file, update the application to use the new certificate:

  1. In the Connections pane, navigate to Sites > RiskFabric
  2. In the Actions pane under the Edit Site heading, click Bindings
The Site Bindings window will open
  3. Select the binding of Type https on Port 443 and click the Edit button
  4. From the dropdown menu labelled SSL certificate, select the new certificate
NOTE: if the new certificate is not listed in the dropdown, click the Select button to locate the certificate
  5. Click the OK button to close the Edit Site Binding window
  6. In the Connections pane, click on the server hostname
  7. In the Actions pane under the Manage Server heading, click Restart
