Issue/Introduction

When upgrading Aria Operations(formerly known as vROps) cluster using Lifecycle the upgrade fails when checking the SSH status of the data nodes part way through the upgrade even thought SSH button is toggled on for the Aria Operations nodes before upgrade.

Environment

Some users do not want to enable SSH for their Aria Operations instance and some operations in LCM will be impacted for sure. But without user consent, we cannot enable SSH by default for the imported environments, hence we fail the request and ask the user to enable the SSH service.

Cause

If  Aria Operations is deployed by LCM then SSH gets enabled as part of the deployment and on subsequent upgrades as well SSH will not get disabled. But if you do direct Aria Operations ova deployment in vCenter then you have to enable SSH manually during the upgrade through LCM.

Resolution

The resolution is to go into cluster management and re-enable SSH on the nodes, and then "retry" the stalled upgrade.
