Rounding errors within a Partner customer's "Other" cost category.

Issue/Introduction

Some Partner customers will see charges (Categorized under "Other") with the line item description of "This line contains rounding error due to the consolidated billing and hourly line item calculation processes". 


There can be a significant amount of cost attached, so many Partners and their customers will want to better understand these line items.

Resolution

This occurs when the amount of usage covered by a reservation in a month is greater or less than the total usage amount of a reservation on the RIFee.  As a result, the apportioned cost of DiscountedUsage lines is different from than the cost of the RIFee line item.  After apportioning is completed, a rounding line item ("This line contains rounding error due to the consolidated billing and hourly line item calculation processes") is injected to compensate for any cost differences across reservations.
