Stale NSX discovered dvpg segments and transport zones after security-Only NSX uninstall

Issue/Introduction

• Parallel uninstall of NSX Security-only clusters which share a DVS may result in stale discovered DVPG segments and stale Transport zones.
• There is no functionality impact due to this.
• If the user installs the NSX again on those clusters, the same Transport zones and discovered DVPG segments will be used. 

Environment

NSX Security Only deployment
Impacted Versions: NSX 4.1.2.4

Cause

Shared DVS that spans multiple NSX security-only installed clusters and performing parallel NSX uninstall on multiple clusters

Resolution

Workaround:

• This issue will not occur if NSX Security is uninstalled sequentially.
• If the stale issue is encountered during parallel uninstall:
  • Perform Configure NSX security on at least one of the clusters which shares the DVS, and then perform uninstall.
  • This will cleanup the stale resources.

 

Permanent Fix:

Upgrade to 4.2.0 or later
