Issue/Introduction

PAM Rest API call GET /cspm/ext/rest/dashboard/clusterSiteInfo includes information on the load average as part of the "hardwareActivity" details, such as:

"hardwareActivity": { "cpuUsageInPercentage": 17, "cryptoProvider": "WolfSSL", "diskUsageInPercentage": 58, "uptime": "46 days, 21:10", "statusReconciliationAllOthers": "Available", "statusReconciliationRestored": "Available", "memoryUsageInPercentage": 34, "streamingStorageUsageInPercentage": 0, "hsmStatus": "None", "statusReconciliationMostRecent": "Available", "loadAverage": "1.45, 1.33, 1.07", "rdrandStatus": "No" },

What do the three numbers seen in the output represent?

Environment

CA Privileged Access Manager (PAM) with Rest API enabled.

Resolution

The loadAverage values represent the three average CPU usage values provided by (a)top. The first number is the average over the last minute, the second number is the 5-minute average and the third number is the 15-minute average. The maximum values depend on the number of CPUs. On a server with 8 CPUs the maximum would be 8.00. With a steady CPU load the three numbers will be very close to each other.
