Issue/Introduction

Problem/Symptoms: 

You are trying to send a command to the mainframe via the OPS/MVS interface, but the vertical bar character ('|') is delivered to the mainframe as a period character ('.'). For example, you try sending the following:

Address OPS

"OPS SYSID(SYST) COMMAND('|JBS D HELD') capture (DTM6420I DTM6417E) syswait(30)"

 

However, after the command reaches reaches the mainframe you see the followng error message in the OPSLOG:

.JBS D HELD

IEE350I .JBS COMMAND INVALID

Environment:  

Windows Server 2003 and z/OS mainframe

Cause: 

This problem is caused by a defect in the AP source code page tables for translating ASCII <--> EBCIDIC.

Resolution:

AP sustaining engineering wrote test fix 11.5.1.51 to resolve this code-page table defect. This test fix was verified by the customer who reported the problem. Patch 11.5.1.2 includes this test fix and is currently being evaluated for GA release. Please contact technical support to obtain this test fix.
