CA Harvest Software Change Manager - OpenMake Meister CA Harvest Software Change Manager

Issue/Introduction

We installed the PEC, CAPKI and the Harvest Client on our Linux server.

When executing the hco commands or any commands the following error occurs

/opt/CA/scm/bin/hco: line 137: /opt/CA/scm/lib/hco: cannot execute binary file
/opt/CA/scm/bin/hco: line 137: /opt/CA/scm/lib/hco: Success
Ownership and execute rights are to the app id @ 755

Environment

Harvest Software Change Manager 12.x and higher

Cause

We checked and found that they had installed the AIX version of the SCM Client on the Linux server.

Resolution

  1. Uninstalled the AIX versions of PEC, CAPKI and SCM Client components
  2. Installed the Linux versions of the components.

Additional Information

The Harvest installation files for all components and platforms are packaged on the same DVD image.  For the Linux and Unix platforms, the installation tar files have the same name across all the platforms so care must be taken to select the tar files from the correct folder to ensure they are for your specific platform.  For example, in the server folder on the CA_Harvest_Software_Change_Manager_V14.5.0.iso you'll find:
