Question

*U11D-8200-5  SSN=CAL7  DBID=0601  Area=IXX at 90% used.  Why does this message occur?

Answer:

The CA 11 STC will generate a U11D-8200-5 message once any database file reach a designated threshold, based on its ‘DBWARN=’ configuration file setting.  If the area is identified as the IXX, a DEFRAG should be performed.

Note:  The DEFRAG option can only be used for the IXX601.

The following DBUTLTY can be submitted to reclaim the unused space.

After running the DEFRAG utility,  if you would like to increase the space in the IXX601, please perform the following steps:

1. Suspend CA WA Restart Option on all LPARs that share the same 601 database.

2. Set Access Off and execute a COMM CLOSE on DBID 601 (using DBUTLTY).

3. Delete IXX601.

4. Increase IXX601 size.

5. Perform DBUTLTY RETIX.

6. Perform DBUTLTY access write.

7. Resume CA WA Restart Option.

Note: Before the IXX601 file can be expanded, make database 601 unavailable to CA WA Restart Option. Use the CA Datacom DBUTLTY with the following SYSIN control statements to make database 601 unavailable:

ACCESS STATUS=OFF,DBID=601,USERS=FAIL

COMM OPTION=CLOSE,DBID=601

As always, please contact CA 7 support if you have further questions.
