High CPU usage occurs for GSS along with error SRV258 MLWTO TRUNCATED

Issue/Introduction

The GSS address space experiences high CPU usage and message SRV258 MLWTO TRUNCATED is issued.

Jobtrac 11.0

GSS 14.0
                

Cause

The first entry in the pending console buffer queue can point to itself causing a CPU loop.  The new ENQ serialization function is activated by the GSS initialization the BUFFER ENQ parameter.

Resolution

Ensure that PTF RO46688 is applied and  add ‘BUFFER ENQ’ to the runparms to address the high CPU usage for GSS and the SRV258 MLWTO TRUNCATED error.
