Issue/Introduction

Issue:

When attempting to build an HP Proliant 380 G9 with OSIM using the LinuxPE boot image fails with a Kernel crash.

Disabling USB 3.0 ports in the BIOS resolves the Kernel crash but after this the boot image cannot detect the local drive.

This was working fine on HP Proliant 380 G8

Environment:

  • Harwdware: HP Proliant 380 G9
  • OSImage : Linux

Cause:

The G9 requires drivers not contained in the CenOS 6.3 Linux PE image.

Resolution:

Add the required drivers available from HP Here to the centOS bootimage as per the product documentation

Environment

Release: UASIT.99000-12.9-Asset Intelligence
Component:
