Issue/Introduction

Question:

How is baseline usage calculated?

Answer:

Baseline Usage displays the system-generated usage at the time you baseline using the following formula:

Baseline Usage = Total of Actuals + ETC

Notes:

  • Baseline Usage is the term used both by PPM and Open Workbench
  • The equivalent of Baseline Usage in Microsoft Project (MSP) is Baseline Work
  • The equivalent of Remaining Work in MSP is ETC

Additional Information:

If you are still not seeing baseline usage calculate correctly, please see the following KBs:

- TEC1503689 - Baseline Usage is not saving back to PPM when baseline is created in MSP using New Driver

- TEC1019129 - Due to a Microsoft Project defect, baselines should only be created in PPM with MSP 2010
