How can we modify the the settings in NCM to reduce the number of configurations being captured at the same time?

In our environment we are using NCM to schedule configuration captures.  However we are having problems due to the fact that our firewall can only handle 500 sessions at the same time but we have 700 devices. This is causing the configuration captures to fail.

Resolution

In NCM we can reduce the task work queue size from the default 10 to a lower value to reduce the number of configuration capture tasks being run at the same time.

To modify the task work queue size in NCM do the following:

1. From OneClick select the Configuration Manager information tab.
2. From the General Configuration sub view modify the task work queue size.
3. The default value is 10 so as a starting point, modify this to 5 and check if this corrects the problem.
4. If the problem is no longer seen you can leave the value at 5 or if it is still being seen modify the task work queue size down to 3.
