Summary:
- SystemEDGE Autowatchers dynamically update using a defined scan interval.
- The Loss Action function determines what traps are sent when a file system is no longer detected on the system during a scan.
- It is important to correctly define the loss action severity to avoid unwanted alerts.
Instructions:
- When creating an autowatcher via the VAIM Manager the default loss action under the watcher settings tab will be Fatal.
- For fixed disks having this trap would be helpful if a disk were to lose power or become damaged.

If you do not want these alerts to occur you can set the loss action to "Remove" and and a removal trap will be sent and the monitors will be destroyed. This could be useful for transient file systems such as NFS which may not always be present on the system under normal operation:
