CA Top Secret  Security for z/VM - VM r12.1

z/VM v6.3

Resolution

1.) Transfer the fix portion of the PTF RO76945 to your VM System as an ASCII transfer:

      * If you are using FTP, specify ASCII prior to starting the File Transfer.

      * If you are using a Terminal Emulator that invokes IND$FILE, specify or select the ASCII, and CR/LF options.

2.) Transfer or rename the File with the name ‘RO76945 EXEC’.

3.) On VMANAGER, execute the ‘RO76945 EXEC’ to create the RO76945 SERVLINK File, to be used as input to the VMSES Service process, described in the Product

     Documentation Install Guide.

Once that is done, then do the following:

1.) ACC disk C ; make fixes, such as RO76945, File Mode C

2.) VMFSETUP ppfname MANAGER (LINK ; use supplied PPF File for this release, ‘ZAKV121A’

3.) VMFREC INFO (ENV RO76945

4.) VMFREC PPF ppfname MANAGER (ENV RO76945

5.) VMFBLD PPF ppfname MANAGER (SERVICED

6.) VMDEPLOY VMANAGER PRIMARY

Additional Information

HCPVMI232E states:

========================================================================================================

During the IPL simulation process, the specified IPL device received an I/O interrupt and a unit check condition. One possible cause is that you attempted to IPL a second level V=V z/VM with a V=R area larger than your virtual machine size.
