Question:
After applying maintenance to CA-Disk, you encounter the following error when trying to run a backup:
ADSDM083 4181 DATA SET CADISK.FILES ON DD FILES DOES NOT HAVE ANY SPACE ALLOCATED TO IT.
You are running with a DUMMY CA-DISK FILES dataset.
TEST FILES were allocated as one with 2 cylinders and the job ran fine. There are now entries in this FILES data set. You also use a CA-Datacom database.
Why this is happening?
Answer:
Module ADSDC650 links the CA-Datacom database with the CA Disk FILES data set name.
If this module does not exist, CA Disk is looking for a real FILES allocation and returns this 4181 message.
The ADSDC650 module was "lost" from the linklist after updating CA Disk. The new load library probably no longer contains it.
You need to copy the ADSDC650 module that you have already created in your previous load library into the new load library and everything will work fine.
In case you lost the ADSDC650 module, please contact CA Technologies Support for assistance on guidance to recreate it if you do not have a backup of your load library.

As always, please contact CA Technologies Support for CA Disk if you have further questions.
