Issue/Introduction

What happens when we change the host name of an CA Client Automation(ITCM) agent.

Environment

CA Client Automation- All versions.

Resolution

Here is an example how it works:

Consider an ITCM agent installed on a machine with hostname "Machine-A" and is already discovered in ITCM Console with its inventory.

If the hostname on the agent machine is changed from "Machine-A" to "Mac-A" and subsequently run the command "caf register all".

Once the engine performs the collect task of the Scalability Server to which this agent reports,

you can then see that on the DSM explorer, under ALL COMPUTERS-> "Machine-A" is actually replaced with "Mac-A".
