QUESTION:
What happens when we change the host name of an CA Client Automation(ITCM) agent.
ENVIRONMENT: All version of CA Client Automation
ANSWER:
Here is an example how it works:
Consider an ITCM agent installed on a machine with hostname "Machine-A" and is already discovered in ITCM Console with its inventory.
If the hostname on the agent machine is changed from "Machine-A" to "Mac-A" and subsequently run the command "caf register all".
Once the engine performs the collect task of the Scalability Server to which this agent reports ,
you can then see that on the DSM explorer, under ALL COMPUTERS-> "Machine-A" is actually replaced with "Mac-A".
