Issue/Introduction

  Summary:

 This article discusses how to use the BRTM agent to categorize business transactions metrics by different browser types under the Business Segment

 node in Workstation Investigator.

 

  Background:

 After installing Browser Response Time Monitor (BRTM) and enabling related properties & cookies on browsers and the applications, one will be able to see the browser type of the BT through a transaction trace. However, these BTs will not be categorized by different browser types under the Business Segment node in the Metric Browser tab of the Workstation Investigator. Additional configuration may be required to group these BTs by browser types in the Metric Browser.

 

 Instruction:

For the BRTM agent to decorate the Business Transaction with the browser type, it requires defining a Business Transaction with the matching URL. For example, please refer to the screenshot shown below:

 After configuring the browser request as a Business Transaction, BRTM will then be able to report metrics categorized by browser type.

 Otherwise, it will only report metrics for all browsers in one metric node, and only show browser type in transaction trace.
