Cannot access the new Web Admin Console page

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms

The rest of the following applies to installs of NMS v6.5 or higher assuming the admin_console probe package was already in place/re-deployed to the NMS-Server (primary hub).

service_host version 1.02 probe should be present and the log at loglevel 3 should give you some idea of what is wrong.

Make sure that the following probes were deployed to the Nimsoft Server/primary hub or simply re-deploy them from the local Archive on the NMS-Server (primary hub):

- monitoring_services 1.20 or higher
- ids_services 1.0

Restart the service_host probe.

Access the web admin console via the correct url, e.g.,:

?? http://10.164.xxx.xx:8080/adminconsole

In unsecured mode, you can click-> "Continue to this website (not recommended)."

Then proceed to Sign In to the web admin console.

If the Nimsoft Server web page, e.g.,

http://<ump_machine>xxx.com:8080 can be displayed that is a good start...

In some cases an HTTP error is displayed when you click on the "Nimsoft Monitor Admin Console" link from the Nimsoft Monitor web page->http://<ump_machine>xxx.com:8080/adminconsole, or as a result of clicking on the Admin Console portlet menu item within UMP:

You may see an HTTP error displayed like the UMP page image above/text in the browser like below:

"HTTP Status 404 - /adminconsole

type Status report

message /adminconsole

description The requested resource is not available.
Apache Tomcat/7.0.33"

If this happens, simply 'cold start' the service_host probe (Deactivate-Activate) and try clicking on the link again.

If you still get an error, please make sure you have deployed all of the following probes on the primary hub:

- admin_console
- baseline_engine 1.0 (required by ppm)
- ids_services
- monitoring_services
- nms_home
- ppm
- service_host (if not already deployed)
