Cannot meter NSX-V post upgrade to Usage Meter 4.7 getting the error: "Collection error: NullPointerException"

Issue/Introduction

• The article will provide you with the workaround to meter NSX-V with Usage Meter version 4.7. 

Symptoms:

• Post upgrade  to Usage Meter 4.7, the customer is getting the error: "Collection error: NullPointerException" for NSX-V.

Environment

VMware vCloud Usage Meter 4.x

Cause

• The issue is when the created edges in NSX-V configured with Usage Meter, does not have a Virtual Machine appliance deployed.

Resolution

• This is a known issue. VMware is aware of it. There is a workaround.

Workaround:

• To workaround the issue, remove all the unhealthy and incorrectly configured edges from the NSX-V.

Impact/Risks:

• Will not be able to meter NSX-V in Usage Meter version 4.7.
