Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • vRA - GitHub Integration no longer syncs and ends with time-out error
  • Connection between vRA and Github is intact

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 8.x

Cause

  • This happens if the access token used to validate the vRA - GitHub integration has expired.

Resolution

  • Resolution is to authenticate the vRA - GItHub Integration with a new valid access token from GitHUb.

       Steps :

  1. Login to GitHub portal and navigate to Settings > Developer Settings > Personal access tokens
  2. Select the Generate new token button and you may be asked to confirm your password again.
  3. On the New personal access token page, in the Note field select a meaningful name, such as "vRA 8 Repo Access" and select the permissions you require.

  1. Once selected, click Generate Token and copy the token that is generated and record it somewhere safe. It can not be retrieved later, but can be regenerated if required.

  1. Log into the vRA Portal, and select Cloud Assembly > Infrastructure > Connections > Integrations.
  2. Put the token and validate the integration.

  1. Once the integration is added, open the integration and navigate to the Projects tab, a sync will automatically run and you should see the below:

  1. If this does not sync automatically, then you may need to add the directory again and manually sync.
