Issue/Introduction

• The purpose of this KB is to provide the way to figure out why VMware Aria Automation cannot show transport zones and how to deal with this issue.

Symptoms:

• VMware Aria Automation (Formerly VMware vRealize Automation) cannot show transport zones under "Network Domains" menu when integrating NSX with policy mode in Aria Automation.

Environment

VMware Aria Automation 8.13.x

Cause

• VMware Aria Automation fails to retrieve information regarding transport zone with transport zone id which is string value instead of using UUID.

Resolution

• This issue is resolved in Aria Automation 8.13.1. There is a workaround. 

Workaround:

1. Temporarily customer can create transport zones under manager mode in NSX UI.
2. Create transport zones using the deprecated NSX API: https://vdc-download.vmware.com/vmwb-repository/dcr-public/201a09cb-5610-49e6-9d31-7db0920e3a65/65f199d6-8516-4092-9b19-906559f972b5/api_includes/method_CreateTransportZone.html.

 

However, it is not the effective workaround as the existing transport zones will not still be shown in VMware Aria Automation.
