Issue/Introduction

To proactively monitor the health status of aria automation cluster & standalone deployments.

Symptoms:

In Aria Automation 8.x, formerly known as vRealize Automation,we can proactively monitor the health status of vRA cluster by using automated script.

 


Environment

VMware Aria Automation 8.x

Resolution

Steps to run the health check script:

  1. Download the script Health.sh attached to this article
  2. Validate if the downloaded script is in .txt or .sh format. If the script is in .txt format, please change it to .sh (correct format - Health.sh).
  3. Using winscp, copy the script in root partition of all the cluster nodes.
  4. Take SSH & execute the command : chmod 333 Health.sh or chmod +x Health.sh to provide full permission on the script on the respective nodes
  5. From the "root" directory (/home/root) execute the script using command ./Health.sh


Once script is executed, below parameters will get displayed within a regular interval ~ 5 seconds

Cluster Health
Services Status
Pod Status
Disk Space
NTP Status
