Issue/Introduction

Email notifications can be sent to group ID (Security Groups/ DL) in Aria Automation.

Symptoms:

Email notifications are not being sent to group ID (Security Groups/ DL) in Aria Automation.

Environment

VMware Aria Automation 8.x

Cause

The issue occurs because the notification service in Aria Automation only recognizes principal IDs and not group IDs.

Resolution

This will be resolved in Aria Automation 8.13

Workaround:

To work around this issue:

 

Create an email distribution list and assign it to a VIDM local user. This user can then be applied to the business group manager role or other roles designated for notifications. The notifications will be sent to the assigned distribution list.
