  • Data such as Protocol Latency is displayed with a 20+ minute delay
  • Long collection times (15-20 minutes per cycle)

Cause

This issue occurs due to an expected behavior when collecting and presenting data in VMware Aria Operations using Aria Operations Management Pack for Horizon.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware Aria Operations Management Pack for Horizon 2.5 and later.

At present, no resolution is available.

Workaround:

To mitigate this issue, shorten the data collection and presentation time in Aria Operations by utilizing the Aria Operations Management Pack for Horizon.

  1. SSH to the VMware Aria Operations primary node as root.

Note: If you do not know, or have forgotten your root password, refer to How to reset the root password in VMware Aria Operations (2001476).

  2. Using vi, edit the /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/user/plugins/inbound/vrho-adapter/conf/vrho.properties.
vi /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/user/plugins/inbound/vrho-adapter/conf/vrho.properties
  1. Modify the resourceCollectionInnerThreadPoolSize from default value of 5 to 15 on all the nodes in the cluster.

  2. save the file.

  3. Perform steps 1-4 on all other nodes of the cluster including remote collectors or cloud proxies.

  4. Stop/start the collection on the Horizon adapters.

Note: if the Horizon mgmt pack is upgraded or reinstalled, the vrho.properties file will get overwritten, and the above steps will need to be performed again.
