Issue/Introduction

Alarms are seen in NSX manager regarding the number of objects defined in the system for <components> has reached <number> which is above the maximum support count of <limit>.

A similar alarm as the following:

Environment

VMware NSX-T 3.x and NSX 4.x

Resolution

If an alarm was raised for capacity exceeding maximum for "Total Gateway Firewall rules" in NSX-T 3.x or NSX 4.x please check this KB: https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/373642/nsxt-data-center-capacity-dashboard-gene.html

This alarm is automatically resolved once the number of objects of the specified type defined decreases. Navigate to the capacity page under the NSX overview UI of respective feature (i.e. Networking, Security, Inventory and System) and review current usage versus known maximum value.

The alarm can also be resolved once the NSX manager VMs are updated to the correct size in order to handle more capacity.
Please check the VMware Configuration Maximums page for capacity limits for different NSX manager VM size: https://configmax.esp.vmware.com/guest?vmwareproduct=VMware%20NSX&release=NSX-T

Maintenance window is recommended for remediation. This change only applies to management plane and thus will not have impact on data plane activities.
