Issue/Introduction
TKGm control plane and worker nodes require IPs assigned via DHCP. However, with NSXT DHCP service, there is no built-in mechanism to reserve these allocated IPs. This can lead to IP changes upon reboot, causing potential disruptions.
Environment
VMware NSX-T Data Center VMware NSX
Resolution
The following workaround involves creating DHCP Static Binding configurations on the NSX Segment that hosts the TKGm nodes. The steps are as follows:
Configure DHCP Service on the NSX Segment:
Set up DHCP service on the NSX Segment that will be used by the TKGm nodes.
Retrieve VM IP and MAC Information:
Once the TKGm nodes get a DHCP IP, the VM's IP and MAC can be retrieved and a static DHCP binding entry can be created on the Segment.
Using the retrieved IP and MAC information, create DHCP static binding entries on the NSX-T Segment corresponding to each TKGm node.
