Standalone ESXi Host Transport Node configuration fails with Error code: 9421

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
When attempting to configure a new standalone ESXi Host Transport Node that is migrating networking from vDS to N-vDS the configuration fails with the following error: "Migration validation could not be done for host <host UUID> because host information could not be retrieved Error code: 9421"

Environment

VMware NSX-T

Cause

The Transport Node create code assumes the host is part of a cluster when its not, and the host information is set to 'null' when it checks the validation.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in NSX 3.2.2 and later releases.

Workaround:
Configure the ESXi Transport Node without migrating the vmks and pnics. Once the ESXi Host Transport Node is created, then update the configuration with the vmks and pnics.

Transport Node configuration will fail.
