Alerts are not showing Host name in vRealize Log Insight 4.x

Issue/Introduction

When viewing a triggered alert in vRealize Log Insight, the name of the host that generated the alert is missing.

Environment

  • VMware vRealize Log Insight 4.3.x
  • VMware vRealize Log Insight 4.5.x
  • VMware vRealize Log Insight 4.x
  • VMware vRealize Log Insight 4.0.x

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

  1. Log into the vRealize Log Insight UI as admin.
  2. Navigate to Administration > Integration > vSphere.
  3. Locate the desired vCenter Server and click Unconfigure.
  4. Click Continue in the Unconfigure ESXI Hosts prompt.
  5. Click OK in the Configuration successfully removed prompt.
  6. Check the Configure ESXi hosts to send logs to Log Insight box in the desired vCenter Server configuration.
  7. Click Save.
