Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Virtual machine(VM) provisioning request fails when requesting VMs with special characters in the description field.

  • Xaas workflows or build requests utilizing EBS for calling vRO workflows fails with errors when executing a workflow.

    "- SyntaxError: Missing comma in object literal "

    "- SyntaxError: Unexpected token in object literal"

    " Extensibility consumer error(20999) "

Cause

This error occurs when you try to parse invalid JSON in your workflow.


Resolution

To resolve this issue:

Ensure that the data that you are passing to your workflow is of type Properties (not string).
