Unstable environment when attempting to setup VCHA using WAN

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

  • The environment becomes unstable when you attempt to setup VCHA.
  • The appliance state is out of sync
  • You see frequent failovers and network isolations.

 

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.0.x
VMware vCenter Server 7.0.x
VMware vCenter Server 6.7.x
VMware vCenter Server 6.5.x

Cause

VCHA needs dedicated, high fidelity, low latency network.

Resolution

This issue occurs as WAN is not supported in VCHA.

Workaround:
To workaround this issue, use a wired LAN network.
