Issue/Introduction

This article provides a link to the Broadcom Compatibility Guide which identifies compatible host network adapters for an ESXi host.

Environment

VMware ESXi 7.0

VMware ESXi 8.0

Resolution

ESXi hosts identify hardware and load the associated driver only if the hardware is listed in the hardware compatibility list.

 

To verify if your network adapter is supported, see the Broadcom Compatibility Guide for your version of ESXi.

 

Note: Network adapters that are not listed in the compatibility guide may or may not function properly and are not supported by Broadcom.
