Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

The following error is returned while attempting to upgrade NSX-T:
Scheduling immediate update of bundle failed. Invalid upgrade spec, NSX-T upgrade request contains unhealthy NSX-T Host cluster Ids [CLUSTER-UUID-HERE]

 


Environment

Vmware Cloud Foundation 4.5

Cause

ESXi Host(s) with a bad physical NIC, or a down physical NIC cause the check before upgrade of a NSX-T instance to fail as VMware Cloud Foundation expects 2 physical NIC connections up.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow one of the below steps.

1.    Determine the cause of the physical NIC connection issues.
2.    Once the physical NIC is healthy and connected, attempt the upgrade in the SDDC Manager UI.

OR

1.    Remove the Host from the workload domain cluster with the workflow found in the SDDC Manager UI.
2.    Attempt the upgrade in the SDDC Manager UI.
