vRealize Automation fails to connect to an AWS endpoint

Issue/Introduction

This article describes the process of adding a customer property for configuring an Amazon endpoint.

Symptoms:
vRealize Automation appliance lost connection to the AWS endpoint and unable to re-create.

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 7.x

Cause

This issue occurs because Amazon endpoint property amazon.AmazonEC2Config.ServiceURL is hard coded and requires an override with a custom property.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, edit the Amazon endpoint and add the below custom property.

amazon.AmazonEC2Config.ServiceURL	Specifies the Amazon configuration service URL for US West (N. California), for example amazon.AmazonEC2Config.ServiceURL=https://ec2.us-west-1.amazonaws.com
