Symptoms:


When you download an F5 device UCS file, the file will become unusable and appear corrupted. It can't be used to restore a F5 device.  

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - NCM

Cause

The UCS file in a F5 device is a compressed .tar file which Network Configuration Manager (NCM) can't untar and read.

Resolution

At this time Network Configuration Manager does not have the functionality to untar and read UCS files. NCM can only read Binary or ASCII files from devices. This is expected to be resolved in a future release of Network Configuration Manager.
