ADD HOST and REMOVE Host operations fail due to NSXT version

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
Steps to Reproduce the issue 
  1. Deploy SDDC instance and VI workload domain using J1 ( VCF4000)
  2. Using SKIP tool Upgrade VCF to 4.1
  3. Now perform NSXT upgrade on MGMT and on VI Domain
    During NSXT upgrade on VI domain is failed due tmp space issue on ESXI
  4. Now, fix ESXi tmp space issue and reboot servers
    Here, one of the server did not come up
  5. Now try to delete dead host. Now deadhost deletion has failed with below error.
    NSX-T version is invalid. Installed version is 3.0.0.0.0.15946738. Supported versions are [3.0.2.0.0-16887200, 3.0.1.0.0-16404613].

VMware Cloud Foundation 4.0.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.1

Resolution

  • VMware is aware of the issue and currently working on this.  


Workaround:
Add property
  1. Add the statement "nsxt.previous.versions=3.0.0.0.0-15946738" to the file /etc/vmware/vcf/domainmanager/application.properties
  2. Restart Domainmanager service after updating the property
systemctl restart domainmanager
