After a VCF on VxRail Level Skip Upgrade for 4.1 to 4.2 the VxRail 7.0.131 bundle may not be available to download.

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• After completing the skip level upgrade on a VCF on VxRail environment from 4.1 to 4.2, some may notice that the latest VxRail bundle is not available to upgrade.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation on VxRail 4.2

Resolution

This is a known issue, please use the either set of steps based on the environments configuration.

 

1. Navigate to SDDC manager UI > Repository Settings and "Disconnect" both Customer Connect and Dell EMC depots.    

2. Open an SSH session to the SDDC Manager VM and switch to root user:
   su -

3. Change directory to /opt/vmware/vcf/lcm/lcm-app/bin
   cd /opt/vmware/vcf/lcm/lcm-app/bin

4. Run  the below command to clear the partnerBundleMetadata entries
   python bundle_cleanup.py VXRAIL7-0-131-26875681DL102694_VXRAIL_COMPOSITE-7-0-131-26875681_for_VCF_only-zip

5. Navigate to SDDC manager UI > Repository Settings and "Authenticate" both Customer Connect and Dell EMC Account to re-connect to the depots.

Offline SDDC Manager where an already uploaded partnerBundleMetadata.json is available

1. Open an SSH session to the SDDC Manager VM and switch to root user:
   su -

2. Change directory to /opt/vmware/vcf/lcm/lcm-app/bin
   cd /opt/vmware/vcf/lcm/lcm-app/bin

3. Run the below command to clear the partnerBundleMetadata entries
   python bundle_cleanup.py VXRAIL7-0-131-26875681DL102694_VXRAIL_COMPOSITE-7-0-131-26875681_for_VCF_only-zip

4. Follow the document to download bundles for VMware Cloud Foundation on Dell EMC VxRail with the Bundle Transfer Utility.
