Symptoms:
- Unable to get email notification from vCenter for triggered alarms.
- In var/log/messages,You see these entries:

Environment
VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.5.x
Resolution
To resolve this issue:
- Take a snapshot of the VCSA first Go to /etc/mail vi submit.cf
- Search for DS # "Smart" relay host (may be null) DS
- Change it to # "Smart" relay host (may be null) DS[mail.server.entry] ---> FQDN of the mail server
- Save the file and Exit.
- Run the command to restart the sendmail service:
systemctl restart sendmail
