When assigning an 8.x ROBO Standard or Advanced license to the 2-node stretched cluster afterward, it results in the below error.
Creating a 2-node vSAN stretched cluster with vCenter 8.0U2 and assigning the ROBO Standard or Advanced license to the cluster results in the same error as seen above.
Environment
VMware vSAN 8.0.x VMware vSphere 8.02
Cause
As of vCenter version 8.0U2 vSAN licensing reports the asset registered features per license to ensure the proper licensing is in use for the vSAN cluster. This code change was not sophisticated enough to handle the caveat of ROBO licensing for 2-node streched clusters for standard and advanced licenses resulting in the error seen in the screenshot in the Symptoms section.
Resolution
Upgrade vCenter to 8.0U2a
Additional Information
Impact/Risks: ROBO Standard or Advanced licenses fail to apply to the 2-node stretch cluster in vCenter 8.0U2
