Issue/Introduction

  • This article is only applicable if above error is seen during precheck and if vROPS virtual machine names does not match with fully qualified domain name
  • This is not fixed in VCF 3.x deployments. As of VCF 3.11, following workaround exist for this


Symptoms:
  • On VCF 3.11 environment, precheck on management domain could fail due to following reason:
  • Error Description: Exception occurred while performing API password validation task for vROPS load balancer node of xxx.xxx.xxx

VMware Cloud Foundation 3.0.x

Resolution

  • If this occurs in any environment then resolution would be to make the virtual machine name match with the fully qualified domain name.
